School Council Members

Catholic School Council

This Volunteer Advisory Body brings together parish, parents, teachers, business and other community members. Together, they come to a consensus on matters pertaining to the education of students. Thanks to the various fundraising activities, the Council has provided the students with extra activities such as hot lunches, trips, plays, computer software, outdoor play equipment, support for sacramental celebrations and school awards. Elections were held on September 21st for the following Executive positions: Chairperson (co position), Secretary, Treasurer, Catholic School Parents'  Association (CSPA). We also have a parent sitting as a Parish Representative.

This is a great opportunity for you to be more involved in your child's education. The TD McGee Catholic School Council meets once per month on Tuesday evenings - dates can be found in the weekly update or on the calendar of our website.  You can find minutes of our meetings on the school website.

We have our own email

TDMcGeeSchoolCouncil@gmail.com, as a way to connect with our broader community. We would like to hear your ideas and suggestions for making TD McGee a thriving community.  Everyone is welcome to attend our monthly meetings, typically 6:30 on the second Tuesday of each month.  Our first meeting is Tuesday, September 12th at 6:30 pm. If you can’t make meetings, but have thoughts to share please email us.

In order to engage our broader community, we welcomed a new community rep – Jeff Kaluski. Jeff is president of the Beacon Hill Community Association (BHCA).  He maintains the BHCA website and publishes the community e-newsletter, please visit www.bhca.ca to subscribe! Jeff kindly offered to advertise our fellowship and fundraising events on the website and newsletter.

OCSB Parent Involvement Committee (PIC)

The Ottawa Catholic School Board Parent Involvement Committee (PIC) is a provincially mandated committee made up of parents, a trustee, a principal and the Director of Education. The purpose of PIC is to support, encourage and enhance parent engagement at the school board level in order to improve student achievement and well-being. The parent members of the OCSB PIC are appointed by CSPA.

Learn more about OCSB's PIC on the PIC page of the Board website.

The Catholic School Parents’ Association (CSPA)

Through our website, Twitter, and email newsletters we provide updates on education in Ottawa & Ontario; plus we share great tips, resources and information to help parents support their children in school. All parents are welcome and encouraged to join our e-mail list, follow us on Twitter or attend CSPA monthly meetings.

Visit the CSPA website to learn more about CSPA and the work we do to support parents and their children in our schools.
